The Los Angeles Basin Chapter of the International Code Council (ICC) is proud to announce the Stuart Tom Academic Scholarship of Excellence, which supports students pursuing education in building-related fields. Two scholarships of $500 each will be awarded to students enrolled in a 4-year college, 2-year college, or vocational construction program. Eligible applicants must be accepted to study, or currently studying a building-related major such as architecture, engineering, construction management, or building inspection.
HOW TO APPLY
Students interested in applying for the scholarship must submit a letter of interest to the Los Angeles Basin Chapter of ICC Board of Directors. The letter must have the following information to be considered for nomination:
The deadline for applying is April 24, 2026. Upon review of the submitted letters, the board will then select top candidates. Applicants will be recognized and awarded their prize at the Building and Safety Month Luncheon on May 14, 2026. Recipient must be present to receive the award . The names of the selected candidates will also be posted on the Chapter’s website www.icclabc.org and the selected candidates and immediate family will also be invited as our guests for award presentation.
