The Los Angeles Basin Chapter of the International Code Council (ICC) is proud to announce the Stuart Tom Academic Scholarship of Excellence of three students; two students awarded $500.00 and one student awarded $1,000 towards education. The scholarships will be awarded to a 4-year college student, 2-year college student, or vocational construction program student currently enrolled in a building related major(s), such as architecture, engineering, construction management, or inspection.
Students interested in applying for the scholarship must submit a letter of interest to the Los Angeles Basin Chapter of ICC Board of Directors. The letter must have the following information to be considered for nomination:
1- Declaration: Express why you (student) deserve the scholarship
2- School Name and Location: School currently attending
3- Grade point average (GPA)
4- Personal Information including, the full name, home address, phone number, and e-mail.
5- At least 1 letter of recommendation from a current or past professor.
6- Student Membership Application – No Fee
7- Committee Membership Application – No Fee
The deadline for applying is December 14, 2018. Upon review of the submitted letters, the board will then select top candidates. The selected candidates will be announced during the Annual Business Membership Meeting in January 26, 2019. The names of the selected candidates will also be posted on the Chapter’s website and the selected candidates and immediate family will also be invited as our guests for award presentation.
