Sandi McCracken has been directly involved with structural steel fabrication and erection for over 35 years predominately in Quality Assurance and Quality Control and has been instrumental in the development of the most recent IAS accreditation programs for steel construction. She has delivered training for Special Inspection Agencies approved by the Professional Institute of Engineers and New York Structural Steel Engineer Association several times in the state of New York. Similarly, Sandi has delivered Special Inspection Agency training to the Las Vegas Building Department. In addition, she has worked with membership organizations to assist with their goals and implementation of programs that strengthen their perception and efficacy in supplying excellent service to their customers and serves on several construction committees.
Sandi ‘s background is in construction with a focus on fabricator and erector’s demonstrated competence and has developed and implemented Quality Management Systems for premiere fabricators of structural steel and contractors and erectors in the field. These procedures include product realization to delivering and erecting the final structural steel member or component in accordance with approved plans. As a previously trained inspector, she has been responsible for the quality of fabricated members or components for projects such metal building systems, Bridge and Building structures, that in part, include ball parks, stadiums, rocket launcher bases, railroad bridges and power plants for government, commercial and industrial projects. In addition, she has developed training programs and trained inspectors for the CWI exam and nondestructive testing methods. Additional experience includes supervising metallurgical laboratory for quality compliance for the production of personnel carriers and M-60 Army Tanks.
Sandi is a professional Auditor and has trained auditors in auditing science and fabrication techniques for certifying entities in the steel construction industry. She has also been instrumental in the development of building standards for certifying entities.
Sandi McCracken is currently the Director of Construction and Industrial Relations that oversees six accreditation programs for the International Accreditation Service, Inc. IAS is a fully owned subsidiary of the International Code Council.
